This poster is of Claude Monet's San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk, also known as Sunset in Venice. It shows the outline of San Giorgio Maggiore, and island of Venice. The sky behind the island, and the water before it are lit up in red and orange colors. This poster measures approx. 35" x 47" Claude Monet (November 14, 1840 - December 5, 1926) was a French painter and a founder of Impressionism. He was a practitioner of its philosophy of expressing one's perceptions before nature. The term Impressionism is derived from the title of his painting Impression, Sunrise. Monet was fond of painting controlled nature: his own garden in Giverny, with its water lilies, pond and bridge, and up and down the banks of the Seine.
