i gotta say i was pretty impressed at the overall look and feel of these. no doubt in my mind that these would keep my hands safe. there heavy duty and i think they would tolerate anything from flying shrapnal to a direct ax attack. if your lookin for protection on the battle field then this would be the way to go. Gauntlets are made for protection right? so why only 3 stars? well your hands will be nice and safe as long as you dont mind that you cant get a good grip on anything. dont get me wrong, you can still hold a sword, but it doesnt rest snugly in the palm of your hand like it should. one hard strike to the sword from an opponent and you would find yourself weaponless. i think maybe with a little bit of modification they would be quite capable of holding anything. the quality of the metal is great, and the fingers are freely moveable. the only problems with the fingers is that they look a little nubby and your pinky overlaps your ring finger a little bit, making it somewhat akward. although i do have my little problems with it im still really satisfied with what i got, and id buy them all over again if i had to. i wish i could rate it at least 3.5 stars, but thats not really an option. if your lookin for something to fight in, i think it would just be a quick fix with a hammer and they would be all set. get them while you can, its an offer i wouldnt want to miss.
